About Peter
Peter Borg is a music producer, songwriter, recording and mixing engineer, musical director, and multi-instrumentalist who has been running Railway Studios for over 14 years. Alongside producing records, Peter is passionate about developing emerging artists, helping them discover their identity and create music with lasting impact.
His greatest strength lies in his instinctive ability to recognise what truly works. Rather than chasing trends, Peter focuses on making records that feel authentic, emotional, and undeniably human.
Peter is also the founder of the multi-award-winning Maltese band Red Electric, one of Malta's most commercially successful acts of the past two decades. Between 2021 and 2023, Peter was signed to Reservoir Media under the guidance of renowned music executive Charlie Pinder.
Whether in the studio or on stage, the philosophy stays the same: serve the song first, create with honesty, and help artists become the best version of themselves.

The Work
01Music Production
Peter works with artists throughout the full production process, from the first demo, voice note or song idea through arrangement, recording, editing and final production. Sessions can involve programming, live instrumentation and recording, vocal production, sound design, MIDI production and detailed arrangement work.
His approach is centred on developing an individual sonic identity for each artist rather than applying a fixed production formula. Production sessions take place at Railway Studios in Malta, with remote collaboration also available for international artists, writers and producers.
02Songwriting
As a songwriter and composer, Peter collaborates with singers, musicians and fellow writers to develop original songs from the ground up. This can involve lyric and melodic development, chord progressions, song structure, arrangement, instrumentation and production.
Because songwriting and production often develop simultaneously, ideas can move directly from an initial writing session into a fully arranged production, allowing the sound of the record to influence the writing itself. His work spans emerging artists, established performers and collaborative releases.
03Recording & Mixing
Peter provides professional recording and/or mixing for singles, EPs, albums and artist projects at Railway Studios. His mixing workflow combines technical precision with a strong focus on musicality and emotion.
Working as both producer and mixing engineer also allows the creative direction established during production to remain consistent through the final mix.
04Artist Development
Peter works closely with developing artists to establish a distinctive sound and translate their artistic identity into finished music.
Artist development can involve songwriting, arrangement, production, vocal production, recording, performance direction, repertoire development, introducing to other writers/musicians and longer-term creative guidance. The process can extend across multiple releases, allowing an artist’s sound, songwriting and production language to develop naturally over time.
05Session Guitar
A multi-instrumentalist and experienced guitarist, Peter is available for guitar recording and selected session work.
Parts are approached from a production perspective, with attention given to tone, arrangement, layering, rhythm, dynamics and how the instrument interacts with the rest of the track. Sessions can include electric and acoustic guitars, rhythm and lead parts, layered textures, ambient parts and additional production elements.
Remote guitar recording is also available, with professionally recorded stems supplied for external productions where required.
06Musical Direction
Peter also works as a musical director for live performances, concerts and televised productions, translating recorded material into a live setting while preserving the identity and impact of the original production.
The role can involve restructuring studio arrangements for live performance, preparing stems and playback sessions, instrumentation, transitions, live arrangements, rehearsals and working directly with artists and musicians on performance.
His current musical-direction work includes Kayati, Ivan Grech, Luke Chappell, Miriana Conte and Red Electric.
